Position:           Kitchen Staff                                              Reports To:            Culinary Manager

Job Type:         PT, Regular, Hourly                                    Location:                Lakewood, NY (Western NYS)

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for assisting in a variety of kitchen duties; food preparation, kitchen organization/cleaning and keeping items stocked.

Our Kitchen staff contributes to the overall experience of a customer to the Empty Pint / Southern Tier Brewing Company.   Our menu is created to enhance the time spent enjoying our beers!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Food Prep: deep frying, chopping veggies, filling sauces, sour creams, etc. to help get the kitchen ready for service
  • Assist with smoking and pulling of pork & pastrami for the menu items
  • Clean & Organize the kitchen and food areas – maintain high cleanliness standard throughout the service
  • Work the line and put out consistent – high quality dishes
  • Keep items stocked
  • After service is complete for the shift, rotate product and clean kitchen – top to bottom
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the culinary manager

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities – Our Kitchen Staff must possess:

  • Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment & utensils in a safe manner
  • Be able to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude
  • Be able to take direction and think big picture
  • Be a dependable team player with a passion for craft beer and making amazing food

Minimum Education &/or Experience required:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience working in a Commercial kitchen is a must; preferably in a high volume/high output establishment

Physical Demands – Our Kitchen Staff must be able to:

  • Consistently stand for the duration of the shift (up to 10 hours), walk, bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to routinely and repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds
  • Use their hands to perform fine manipulation, handle or feel, and must be able to reach with hands and arms

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warm environment. When going through the production area to the coolers, be aware of moving machinery.  The noise level in the work environment can be very loud.
